Cox Events Group Year in Review

We had an awesome year here at Cox Events Group. From creating and producing new events, to reinventing events we’ve had for two decades plus, to promotions and new responsibilities…It’s been fun and gives us a lot to look forward to in 2018. Check it out: New Events and Partnerships in 2017 Pink and Swine – Our first event in Tallahassee that we partnered on together with 4Rivers Smokehouse and FSU’s Dedman School of Hospitality was a great experience. This was an inaugural event that exceeded expectations and raised a good amount of dollars for two deserving recipients, Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center and FSU’s School of Hospitality. Event Successes in 2017 This November’s Cows ‘n Cabs saw unprecedented expansion with 33 of the best restaurants and chefs in Central Florida. This event has quietly become the best culinary happening in Orlando by a long shot. If you don’t think so, you simply haven’t been. We took two of our annual event stalwarts – 98.9 WMMO’s Downtown Concert Series and the 47th Annual Fall Fiesta in the Park – and combined the two at Lake Eola a few weeks back. The results were what we hoped for: growth to both audiences, crowds staying around longer, more families and better sponsor and brand awareness. We look to continue this trend in 2018. The Orlando Whiskey Festival. Cox Events Group took over full production on this year’s event and it came off well. We look to grow ticket sales in a big way in 2018 with more dollars going to its charity of choice, The Lovely Project. The K92.3 All Star Jam....

Spring Fiesta in the Park

Spring Fiesta in the Park

The weekend before last thousands of people headed to Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando to enjoy the 28th Annual Spring Fiesta in the Park, a two-day family-friendly event held on Saturday, April 1st and Sunday, April 2nd. This free community event was a welcome opportunity for more than 200 artists and crafters who came from all over the country to display and sell their original work. Vendors were lined in tented booths along the streets and around the park. Some of the work featured at Fiesta included beautiful handmade jewelry, paintings, crafts, glass art home décor and much more. Patrons enjoyed live music along with a wide variety of food stalls and lots of family and kid-friendly activities while strolling through the park. A huge kid’s play area with bounce houses, games, train rides around the lake and face painting were some of the fun-filled activities that made for a perfect outdoor weekend for the family. Spring Fiesta in the Park also had a special place for your four-legged friends to enjoy and relax. Several pet adoption booths were present at the event’s Pet Fiesta area, with additional rescue groups placed at several locations all around the park. A big thank you to our 11-time presenting sponsor Southern Ford Dealers, the City of Orlando, Central Florida Expressway Authority and Tobacco Free Florida for sponsoring this year’s Spring Fiesta in the Park! Be on the lookout for a fully revamped Fiesta in the Park web site with more information for the general public and a new and simple artist, crafter and food vendor registration process coming soon to www.fiestainthepark.com.  ...
