Cox Events Group Year in Review

We had an awesome year here at Cox Events Group. From creating and producing new events, to reinventing events we’ve had for two decades plus, to promotions and new responsibilities…It’s been fun and gives us a lot to look forward to in 2018. Check it out: New Events and Partnerships in 2017 Pink and Swine – Our first event in Tallahassee that we partnered on together with 4Rivers Smokehouse and FSU’s Dedman School of Hospitality was a great experience. This was an inaugural event that exceeded expectations and raised a good amount of dollars for two deserving recipients, Tallahassee Memorial Cancer Center and FSU’s School of Hospitality. Event Successes in 2017 This November’s Cows ‘n Cabs saw unprecedented expansion with 33 of the best restaurants and chefs in Central Florida. This event has quietly become the best culinary happening in Orlando by a long shot. If you don’t think so, you simply haven’t been. We took two of our annual event stalwarts – 98.9 WMMO’s Downtown Concert Series and the 47th Annual Fall Fiesta in the Park – and combined the two at Lake Eola a few weeks back. The results were what we hoped for: growth to both audiences, crowds staying around longer, more families and better sponsor and brand awareness. We look to continue this trend in 2018. The Orlando Whiskey Festival. Cox Events Group took over full production on this year’s event and it came off well. We look to grow ticket sales in a big way in 2018 with more dollars going to its charity of choice, The Lovely Project. The K92.3 All Star Jam....

We know where to place beer and food to maximize sales opportunities, which sponsor(s) to put front and center, how to coordinate ques with no overlap and of course, hiding those ugly portalets and power sources from plain view while not completely hiding them so your patrons still know where to go...

My Life as an Intern

My experience as an intern with Cox Events Group and Cox Media Group has been filled with nothing but positive moments since I got here. Every time I come in, no matter how small, I learn a little something about what goes on behind the doors of an events and media company. From helping out with the logistics of an event, manning radio remotes in the field, working with the boards to produce radio shows, to even to sending out t-shirt promo items to contest winners, it’s always an eye opening experience. And that is extremely rewarding in its own right. Although the knowledge that I’ve gained through my time with the company has been invaluable, what has kept me going are the people that I get to work with. Everyone has a strong, upbeat attitude about getting work done, while still maintaining a fun and composed atmosphere. Never have I felt out of place or scared to ask a question. Instead, I’ve always looked for more to do, more to help out; something more for me to learn. Overall, I’m extremely grateful to be a part of the team and look forward to each and every working hour.
